I Quit Corporate

To all project managers (and similar roles) seeking to begin or revive your consultancy, START TODAY!

I share so much more on the strategic steps I took to quit corporate in my PM Boss Academy course, but here is a glimpse of the journey..

Goodbye Corporate

November 2021 I turned in my notice of resignation.

December 2021 I left corporate america behind!

To be specific, November 19 is when I turned in resignation. What I didn’t know was that day is actually National Women’s Entrepreneurship Day! I believe everything is designed by a higher power and for me, that is God. How much more aligned could that moment be?

Welp, it got better!

That evening, I was being recognized and awarded for my work with The PM Suite.

Yep, you read that right! Before I stepped foot out of corporate I was already pursuing endeavors, so much so it warranted recognition.

Me turning in my work laptop on the last official day of my corporate career!

That corporate chapter in my career helped mold my knowledge of organizational structure, leadership and problem-solving. Since, I have been able to translate that into my consultancy, with my clients and how I continue to scale the company.

Corporate doesn’t have to be a dirty word. Culturally, it feels like the term and practice has a negative connotation as of late. When in reality, I embrace all the learning lessons during my years in various leadership roles, the teams I collaborated with and projects we accomplished.

Leading up to the moment I left, I knew it was time.

There is so much I did to put myself in the right position. Eliminated $80,000 worth of student loan debt using the F.I.R.E. method, each paycheck I set aside money to invest in my business, mature my mindset and stop operating from limiting beliefs and so much more.

Preparation, confidence and LOTS of prayer helped me overcome fear.

Crippling Fear

Don’t prolong your designed journey because a bunch of WHAT-IF’S are holding you back.

Fear has crippled too many other opportunities, don’t let this be one of them.

Starting my own consultancy was a long-awaited vision. As soon as, the notion of my dream job came to mind I knew instantly, I would be nurturing this business for years to come.

Long-term value over short-term, get rich quick tactics.

I was focused on undeniable value for my clients and was ready to put into practice all my knowledge.

If you have been back and forth with the idea of starting your own consultancy. STOP!

With your years of experience, overqualified resume and lack of recognition in your industry…believe me you are capable.

Now for my experts who already have their consultancy, but haven’t really put forth as much effort as they would like. Don’t give up on your vision!

There is more on other side of the unknown and fear.

Journey Ahead

The PM Suite continues to serve amazing clients!

Going into year four of full-time entrepreneurship is wild to say aloud.

But like the verse you see at the footer of my website 1 Peter 4:10-11

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

For me, this verse brings clarity to my mission, gifts and purpose. I hope it does the same for you.

To all project management professionals (and similar roles), I understand the journey. So much so, I made it part of my mission to share the exact steps, thoughts, framework and more within PM Boss Academy.

Between the 6-module self-paced course and the seasonal OFFSITE event, there is opportunity.

I’m rooting for you!

There is enough room for us all. I can’t wait to support you in this next chapter.

See you in the Academy!
